Coronavirus: Another person dies in Kashmir

Coronavirus claimed second life in Jammu and Kashmir after a person from Tangmarg area in Baramulla died in Srinagar on Sunday.

The man was diagnosed with Coronavirus just 12 hours before he died at SMHS hospital in Srinagar.

His death due to Coronavirus sparked fears among the authorities as he did not have a travel history that could suggest he contracted the disease from somewhere else. However the COVID-19 positive patient was also suffering from a liver ailment when he was brought to the hospital.

Earlier a religious preacher had died due to the disease on Thursday in Kashmir that had triggered panic among the administration and fears of the community transfer of the disease through him.

Coronavirus update in JK

Till Sunday morning 38 people were found in the state to have been infected with the virus that included 34 active cases, two deaths and two recovered persons. The number of patients till Saturday was 33 that jumped further after two cases each from Srinagar and Budgam and one case from Baramulla was reported.

How many coronavirus cases in Jammu

Jammu region has a total of nine Coronavirus cases that include three each from Jammu, Rajouri and Udhampur district. While the region has not been able to safe itself from the disease, strict compliance of the lock-down was now being observed to not let the virus spread further.

Army has also intensified its efforts to curb spread of virus and to slow down the cases of Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir. Soldiers of Indian army especially in far flung and remote areas like Rajouri, Poonch, Doda in Jammu region and in most parts of the Kashmir region are making people aware about dos and donts.

Army has also established quarantine facilities to stop the threat of Coronavirus and is ready with the action plan in case of any eventuality.
