In wake of lockdown, MC Jammu provides free ration to poor

In view of the prevailing situation arising due to outbreak of Covid-19 the Jammu Municipal Corporation besides undertaking sanitation spraying and fumigation drives also took steps to provide dry ration to the needy and down trodden persons living in the slum areas within the limits of JMC.

As per the Jammu survey conducted by Municipal Corporation in the recent past eleven such sites were identified out of which three such locations include Panjtirthi Dounthli towards Circular Road, Bawa Basti Dogra Hall and Kabir Colony Dogra Hall have been covered today and about three hundred kits of dry ration comprising of essential commodities like wheat flour, rice, pulses, sugar, edible oil among others were provided to each family living there.

According to the MC Jammu other locations will also be covered in the continuous drives for distribution of dry ration kits in slums within the limits of JMC.   

The said distribution of ration has been personally monitored by Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Avny Lavasa (IAS) alongwith Secretary, JMC Tinna Mahajan (KAS), Deputy Director Planning Sandeep Sharma, Chief Enforcement Officer Rajesh Gupta, Enforcement Officer Kamni Kesar, Revenue Officer Sunil Kumar and Sanitation Officer Rajinder Kumar and subordinate staff of JMC.
