Army’s White Knight Corps has ordered an investigation into the allegations of “ill treatment” of four civilians in Kishtwar district of Jammu division.
A spokesperson of Army said “Based on specific intelligence of the move of a group of terrorists in the #Kishtwar Sector, an operation was launched by Rashtriya Rifles on 20 November 2024. There are some reports on the alleged ill treatment of civilians during the conduct of the operation. An investigation is being launched to ascertain the facts. Necessary follow up action will be ensured. Further move of the group of terrorists is being monitored”.
It was reported that four civilians were picked up from a village in Kishtwar and were later released. Victims alleged that they were beaten up by Army. The police and administration were also in touch with the Army. It has been learnt that the victims were being treated at an Army hospital.
