The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Tuesday night detected a drone at a height of 200metres along the international border in the Arnia sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

After spotting the drone the BSF troops opened fire at it.

A senior BSF officer said that on the intervening night of July 13 and 14, troops saw a blinking red light in the Arnia sector at about 9.52 pm at a height of 200 metres. “Alert troops fired from their position towards the red blinking light, due to which it returned,” a senior BSF officer said.

He further added that search operation is underway but nothing has been found yet.

It is pertinent to mention that on June 27, there were two bomb blasts at the Jammu air force station using drones.

There has been an increase in drone activity in Jammu.
