CBI books J&K Grameen bank Manager in bribery case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked two persons including an official of J&K Grameen Bank for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 to sanction a house loan in Kathua district.

They received a complaint that the branch head Sanjay Kumar Sharma had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 through a private person identified as Jatinder Kumar for processing and sanction of housing loan of Rs 20 lakh of the complainant’s father, reportedly.

Acting on the complaint, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) laid a trap and caught the individual while he was accepting Rs 20,000 as an installment of the bribe.
Searches have been conducted at the premises of both the accused at Kathua (J&K), the probe agency stated. The arrested accused will be produced before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jammu.
