CBI court sentences XEN Railways to 5 years imprisonment in bribery case

The Special Judge, CBI cases, Jammu today sentenced B.B.Mittal, the then Executive Engineer (Construction/Doubling), Northern Railway, Jammu to undergo five years rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rs.10,000/-.

CBI had registered the instant case against Mittal on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the Complainant for releasing the security amount of Rs.7.5 lakhs (aprox.).

CBI laid trap on 15.07.2009 and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the Complainant.  After investigation, a charge-sheet was filed on 11.03.2010

The Trial Court found the said accused guilty and convicted him.
