Covid 19: Four red and orange zones, 12 green zones in J&K

As the lockdown has been further extended to by two weeks, red, orange and green zone have become important across the country.

With all the Coronavirus cases recovered in Jammu district, now the total number of red zones has come to four while 12 orange zones (districts) are still present in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

There are a total of four green zones where there is no threat of Covid 19 anymore.

Bandipora, Shopian, Anantnag and Srinagar are placed in the red zone while Pulwama, Kishtwar, Doda and Poonch are green zones now. Those districts which are in orange list include Baramulla, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Jammu, Udhampur, Kulgam, Budgam, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Ramban and Reasi.

All 26 patients who were being treated at different facilities recovered from the infection on Thursday. No active cases of the disease were there in Jammu district now.

While Bandipora topped the list with a total of 127 cases there were still 102 active cases of the infection in the district. Srinagar reported a total of 89 cases out of which 19 were still active. Baramulla had 84 cases and 60 active cases.

The recovery rate of patients in Anantnag district was extremely low as there were a total of 83 patients out of which 82 were still active cases while one had died.

The number of total patients in Shopian was 72 out of which 59 were still active.

While Jammu region has done better than Kashmir in terms of stopping Coronavirus outbreak, two new cases of the disease in Samba district have put the authorities on toes. Contact and travel history of both the cases are being ascertained to know if the infection has the chances to spread to other people and places.

However relaxations have also been extended to some extent in orange and green zone while vigil is being maintained in red zones.
