Many consultant doctors selected in various specialties are running from pillar to post and waiting for their posting in Jammu and Kashmir. In the year 2019, several posts recommended by Health and Family Welfare department were filled by the J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for the consultant doctors. But there are many candidates which are still waiting for their posting as the process is getting several roadblocks to get completed.
As per reports, nearly 90 posts were referred to JKPSC of consultant doctors and the procedure for selection was initiated subsequently. Also the list of selected candidates was published on September 25, 2021 but since then the process is yet not completed and candidates are waiting for their postings. Due to delays in verifications and lackadaisical approach of the concerned department candidates are left in lurch. There were many candidates among selected who were already working at some other places and left their jobs in hope of getting early postings.
It has been eight months since the list was published and the concerned department is yet to take notice of the matter and direct for immediate posting of those who have been selected for various posts. The candidates said that the new verification process seems to be causing delays resulting in posts to remain vacant despite being filled by the JKPSC.
