Pertinently, the runway at the Jammu Airport has been expanded and the 30% load penalty at Jammu airport has been removed.  It will bring huge relief to the airlines and passengers. The government has decided to build a new airport terminal adjacent to the existing airport at Jammu.  The land measuring 974 Kanal has already been identified. It will soon be handed over to the Airports Authority of India to build a state-of-the-art 25,000 Sqm new terminal building.

The Div Com discussed in detail about the identified land shifting of Government offices etc.

It was informed that major land around 877 Kanals of the Animal Husbandry Department will be acquired for the new terminal for which the Div Com directed the Joint Director Animal Husbandry and PWD to make assessment of structures and share the final cost of the same.

The Div Com also directed the Animal Husbandry Department to immediately shift the animals and other office buildings to other alternative locations. The Deputy Commissioner Jammu was asked to demarcate the land and handover the same to Airport authorities so that work can be executed on New Airport terminal smoothly.

The DC Jammu informed that 144 kanal  land at Nagrota has already been allotted to Animal Husbandry Department for relocation of Offices and Poultry.

The Div Com directed the DC Jammu to resolve the land issues, if any and ensure the total land is handed over to Animal Husbandry Department for establishment of their assets.
