Drone-dropped heroin recovered from Bishnah border
In a major breakthrough against cross-border narcotics smuggling, the Jammu Range Zone police today recovered a drone-dropped consignment of heroin, weighing 3 kilograms in the Bishnah area along the India-Pakistan border, Police said.
Acting on precise intelligence developed over the past week, police teams had been maintaining a strict, round-the-clock vigil in the suspected sectors. The meticulous planning paid off when the illicit payload was intercepted and seized before it could reach its intended recipients. The recovery was made in the morning.
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) reached the spot to conduct a detailed analysis of the recovered contraband and gather vital scientific evidence.
This successful seizure is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Jammu Police to dismantle the narco-terror ecosystem. It highlights the force’s enhanced vigilance and tactical capability in countering emerging technological threats, such as drone-based smuggling from across the border, Police said.
A comprehensive investigation is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the Pakistani network.
