Eid-Ul-Adha 2020: Lockdown to be eased in Kashmir from July 28

In a crucial meeting of top officials of Jammu and Kashmir administration, it has been decided that lockdown shall be eased on July 28, 29 and 30 in Kashmir valley so that people can shop for Eid-ul-Adha.

The meeting was chaired by Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir. As per an official communication, no public transport except passenger auto and personal vehicles will ply on roads on Kashmir during this period.

Besides, the Deputy Commissioners will locally take call on the issue with regard to pattern of opening of market on these days keeping in view guidelines of Covid-19.

As per the official communication, the DCs shall identify the suitable places for the sale of sacrificial animals keeping in view Covid-19 pandemic and general public shall be made aware through media that no sale and purchase of these animal shall be allowed from July 31.

“Besides, it shall be ensured that the rates fixed by the government are implemented in letter and spirit. Moreover, all the DCs shall explore the possibility of distribution of pamphlets viz-a-viz Covid-19. Besides big size hoardings shall be displayed at identified locations” the order read
