As soon as the delimitation exercise is complete, Jammu and Kashmir will go to elections after six to eight months, Home Minister Amit Shah has said.

In an interview to Network 18, Amit Shah said “The delimitation exercise is about to get over. After this, whatever will be the reasonable timeframe – about six-eight months – the elections will be held. There should be no confusion about that”.

Going by this statement of Amit Shah, the final report of Delimitation Commission is expected in March and elections may take place in Jammu and Kashmir by this year end.
