As Kalakote administration has failed to recover encroached building of old hospital Kalakote, some people tried to encroach a portion of land owned by CHC Kalakote.

Some people entered into the land with JCB machines started digging. Upon seeing this, Block Medical Officer, Kalakote asked Tehsildar to intervene in the matter. The administration has successfully halted temporary work in the area.

BMO Kalakote to Tehsildar Kalakote wrote a letter telling that Surinder Singh Bharti is encroaching the hospital land illegally. He is forcibly digging the area with JCB. BMO requested the Tehsildar to intervene into the matter and stop encroachment of hospital area. He requested him to ask SHO Kalakote & Municipality EO for initiating necessary action against the encroacher until the land record gets verified.

Sources told that earlier a team of Revenue, Health and Police officials visited the old hospital’s building to remove temporary fencing around the building. However, the encroachers again re-fenced the area after a while. On 22nd January, the special team during anti-encroachment drive clicked some photos of the area and marked some new encroachments in nearby areas. However, encroacher of hospital building again fenced the area within the same day.

Rakesh Sharma, Tehsildar Kalakote said that work on contested land has been stopped now. After receiving BMO Kalakote’s complaint, he visited the area along with SHO Kalakote, and stopped the work on site. He said that the other party which was encroaching the contested land has been directed to appear at Tehsildar’s office with documents proving their claims of ownership of the land.
