Family of 21 year old Faridabad murder victim alleges ‘Love Jihad’

The CCTV footage of the barbaric murder has come the 21-year-old girl who was shot dead by two boys outside the Aggarwal college in Ballabhgarh, Faridabad. The murder took place on Monday.

Family members of the victim have alleged ‘Love Jihad’ and said that the boy was pressurizing her to convert and marry him due to which a complaint was also lodged in a police station.

The footage shows two boys coming out of white I20 car and forcefully holding two girl students. The video shows that one of the two boys tries to pull the girl inside his car which is parked near the college gate with a plan to abduct her. When the girl tries to resist, one of them pulls a revolver and shoots her, leaving her dead.

The victim’s name is Nikita Tomar and is identified as a final-year B.Com student. She had come out of the college gates, after appearing in an exam. The incident took place around 3 in the afternoon yesterday. However, the murder fled away from the incident scene. The victim was brought to a nearby hospital in a hurry, where she was declared dead. The victim was a resident of the SGM Nagar. A team of forensic experts collected evidence from the spot.

ACP Jaiveer Rathi of Ballabhgarh said that one of the accused is identified as Taufeeq and was known to the victim. He was from Sohna. A victim’s known had lodged a complaint against the accused a few months ago for molestation and harassment. Both of the parties reached a compromise then.

The Haryana Police soon launched a mission to arrest the accused after the incident. They soon arrested Taufeeq who is one of the two accused in the murder. The clear motive behind the murder is not known but rejection of the friendship by the girl could be the reason, according to the police. The Crime Branch searched the CCTVs installed as far as Palwal and Mewat and arrested him in Noah in just five hours after the murder.

OP Singh, police commissioner, said that the murderers will be punished. The victim’s friends, family and relatives are organizing a protest in the area with a demand for the most strict punishment possible for the murderers. The victim’s brother told Zee News that the main accused Taufeeq was forcing the girl to change her religion to Islam.
