Female staff members working at Toll Plaza Lakhanpur have alleged that they were harassed by a senior staff member. They have lodged a written complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua to punish the accused. Additional Superintendent of Police Kathua has initiated an enquiry into the matter.
Female employees have mentioned that they are employed by Shiva Corporation Jaipur which has taken the tenders of Lakhanpur and Thandi Khui toll plaza. They wrote that they are working on Lakhanpur toll plaza. Another employee by name of Jaspal Singh has been harassing them. He is accused of abusing them in an inebriated condition and asking for sexual favours. They have also been threatened to fire from the company by him if they refuse.
Complaint further reads that he lives in Ganga Nagar Rajasthan and several cases were also registered against him there too. It is alleged that he had an affair with a female staff member there. He asked her to force other females to involve in an affair with him too. They had complained against him to the manager too but no action was taken.
Complaint reads that when the accused was posted at Thandi Khui toll plaza, he and his friend (Babu Ram) forced a female employee for sexual favours. Victim complained about this issue to the company. While Babu Ram was fired but Jaspal Singh was merely shifted to Lakhanpur toll plaza.
The female staff members have demanded that the accused must be punished so that he refrains from such misdeeds in future. According to the sources, accused has fled from the toll post with assistance of some police personnel as they got into a deal with the accused.
Additional SP Kathua Ramnesh Gupta said that he is aware about written complaint which they received. They have initiated the investigation but an FIR is yet to register. Once they note statements of the victim female staff, they will register an FIR against the accused. Any action could be taken against Jaspal Singh only after FIR is registered.
