Former Chief Minister spent secret fund to buy goods from boutiques: Reports

Everyone has been left shocked as reports of alleged misuse of ‘secret fund’ by former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti did the rounds in public. There are allegations that PDP Chief was involved in using secret funds on “buying goods from boutiques”.

reports suggest that the Enforcement Directorate has documents which reveal that Mehbooba spent secret fund for her “personal or family benefits”. Moreover, this amount was given to a particular entity in the national capital of New Delhi.

According to the reports, sources who are either involved in this investigation or are close to those said that this particular entity is a famous boutique brand in Delhi. Sources said that intelligence agencies had inputs that when former CM would visit national capital then she would also spend some time in boutiques in New Delhi.

Reports said that she would visit Delhi almost every fortnight and would rarely forget to visit some particular designer outlets there. ED might analyse details to find if public funds were being used in boutiques by her.

A senior official said that visiting boutiques with personal money should be of no concern to anyone but if public funds were found to be involved in paying fees then it could be problematic. Sources informed that this whole matter became known to ED only when it found a copy of diary which was maintained by the former Chief Minister during her tenure.

One of the major faces of J&K politics Mehbooba has found herself in a soup since allegations of misusing public funds in her tenure became part of the public discussion. ED also questioned her recently in the summer capital of Srinagar. She has termed this whole incident as a witch hunt of BJP government against everyone who speaks against them.
