In wake of surge in Covid-19 cases in the country, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked the central government to cancel 10th and 12th Board examinations for year 2021.

Kejriwal was speaking on the rising Covid cases in Delhi and other places and said that conducting board exams for 10th and 12th will not be a wise decision by the central government.

“The government should order cancellation of Board exams as the situation is not conducive for the same. Some other measure like online exams or assessment on the basis of internal examination should be done” said Kejriwal.

There is a demand among the students and parents that Board exams should be cancelled for the year 2021 as it will not be safe for students to sit in examination centers for hours to write their exams. However the CBSE has so far stated that the exams will not be cancelled.

Even the opposition has asked the government not to go ahead with Board exams this year as this would threaten the lives of lakhs of students across the country.
