Four districts in J&K achieve 100% vaccination of above 45 age group

Jammu & Kashmir has set an example of being the first region in the country with completion of the target of vaccinating all people above the age of 45 with at least the first dose of covid-19 vaccines n four of its districts.

Amid the rising cases of covid-19 in the Union Territory, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has asked administration to pull up their socks.

Ganderbal, Shopian, Jammu and Samba are the districts to achieve this target and vaccination drives in other 16 districts are going on.

66% of UT’s eligible population has been vaccinated above the 45 years age group. A meeting chaired by Union home secretary, Ajay Kumar Bhalla for reviewing the covid-19 pandemic management , and senior officials of J&K said that they have increased both testing and vaccinations which helped them in controlling the virus spread.

The health department in the valley has started an aggressive vaccination drive across Jammu and Kashmir which helped them in achieving this target and there is much to go ahead.
