Govt teacher suspended in Rajouri for corporal punishment to girl student

Government placed under suspension a teacher for allegedly inflicting corporeal punishment to two girls of Middle School Khadurian Panchyat Dramman in J&K’s Rajouri district. 

The matter was highlighted by parents of some girl students who held a press conference and alleged that a government teacher posted in Government Middle School Khadurian in Draman Panchayat of Kotranka sub division Nisar Ahmed resorted to objectionable language which is unacceptable to them. District administration Rajouri have started investigating the matter with an enquiry has been ordered which shall be conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka

The corporal punishment is banned in schools, daycare, alternative child care institutions etc.

“Hurting a child amounts to a crime and can make a person liable for punishment under sections 323, 325, 352 & 506 of IPC.”
