Jammu University organises  interactive workshop on “Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology: Educational Experience in Russia and India “

For exploring the educational experiences in two culturally rich nations, Russia and India , Department of Education under the ages of golden jubilee year celebrations today organized  interactive workshop  for research scholars from University of Jammu , Faculty  and students of Department of Education on  the theme ” Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology: Educational Experience in Russia and India”  by Prof. Svetlana Ryzhakova , Institute of Ethnology& Anthropology , Russia Academy of Sciences , Moscow. The workshop aimed to shed light on the unique aspects of cultural anthropology and ethnology within their respective academic contexts in Russia and India.

In Russia, renowned for its rich history and diversity, educational experiences are deeply intertwined with the nation’s complex cultural heritage. Russian universities offer a comprehensive study of cultural anthropology and ethnology, drawing on their own multifaceted traditions. Through her presentation she highlighted how Russian scholars and students approach these fields, emphasizing the role of history, literature, and language in their studies.

On the other hand, India, with its unparalleled cultural diversity and deep-rooted traditions, offers a unique perspective on cultural anthropology and ethnology. Indian academic institutions provide an inclusive and holistic approach to these disciplines, reflecting the country’s varied cultural tapestry.
