J&K Police attaches five houses for harbouring terrorists

On Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said that they have attached five homes in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar area for being used in terrorist activities.

“Five more houses attached as per sections 2(g) & 25 of UAP act for being utilised for terrorism purpose,” the Srinagar Police tweeted. Maloora, Batmaloo, and Harwan have one house each while two are in Lawaypura. They said that these homes were utilised by active terrorists as hideouts to plot, plan & carry out terror operations in Srinagar area.

In the meanwhile, according to a statement from the police, the following properties have been attached in accordance with section 2(g) and Act 25 to prohibit unlawful actions: homes of Baber Suhail Sofi S/O Mohd Yousuf Sofi R/O Lawaypora, Usman abad, Rameez Ahmad Mir and Muzaffar Ahmad Mir, both sons of Khursheed Ahmad Mir R/O Maloora and Adil Mohd Lone S/O Gh Mohd Lone R/O Bazar Mohalla Lawaypora.

In the case FIR Mo.48/2021 U/S 307,302,392,120/B IPC, 7/25,7/27 A-Act 16,18,20, and UA(P) Act lodged in police station Parimpora, the terrorists who were engaged utilised these residences, according to the statement.

Abdul Majeed Ganie S/O Gh Mohd’s residence is located in Firdous Abad Batamaloo and is referenced in Case FIR No. 128/2020 U/S 7/27 A Act, 16, 19, 20, and 302 of the IPC at Batmaloo PSPS. Ab Rehman Bhat S/O Ab Razaq Bhat R/O Darbagh Harwan, the father of the accused Ashiq Hussain Bhat, was a party to FIR No. 95/2021 U/S filed on December 19, 2021, in accordance with Sections 307 IPC 7/27 A Act, 13, 16, 18, 19, and 20 UAP Act.

The statement reads that it was shown beyond a reasonable doubt over the course of the inquiry that these residences were utilised by active terrorists in plotting, planning, and carrying out terrorist operations in the Srinagar district. The owners of these homes knowingly gave terrorists a place to live and provided the necessary supplies for their stay.

The general people is once more urged to refrain from harbouring terrorists or their accomplices in their homes and strong legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty of doing so, it read.
