An anti-encroachment drive was conducted by the Enforcement team of Jammu Municipal Corporation under the instructions of Commissioner, JMC, Avny Lavasa and under the close supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), JMC, Manisha.
The anti-encroachment drive was conducted in the areas of Indira Chowk, Bus Stand, Jewel and Bakshi Nagar.

Jammu Municipal Corporation removed encroachments/ illegal rehries from the roadside and lanes which includes illegal ramps, railings etc. A number of bye-lanes were also freed from encroachments and opened for general public.
Further, Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to all its citizens particularly rehriwalas/ street vendors not to encroach upon main roads, footpaths, pavements as the same cause inconvenience to the general public and pedestrians and also create obstructions in the free movement of vehicular traffic.
Interestingly the JMC has so far failed to touch the generators in residential areas that are have been placed on roads by influential persons of Jammu. Many such generators can be seen in Gandhi Nagar and Trikuta Nagar where roads have been encroached upon to place these machines.
