After India lost to Pakistan on Sunday night in a T-20 World Cup cricket match by 10 wickets, several Kashmiri students were allegedly attacked at two educational institutions in Punjab.

One incident was reported in the Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology located on the outskirts of Sangrur town, while another was reported from Rayat Bahrat University in Kharar in Mohali district.

Punjab police officials arrived at the college campus soon after and said that situation at Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology was brought under control.

The students alleged that they were sitting in their rooms when the accused barged into their rooms and started assaulting them in retaliation for losing the match. Students shared the video on social media showing broken chairs, upturned beds in their hostel rooms and also the hits taken on their bodies.

Victim said that local Punjabi students came to their rescue and tried to save them from the attack.
