To mark the celebration of 75 years of independence of the country, Srinagar admin is preparing to build largest Chinar park in Kashmir. Largest Chinar park of valley will also be known as Chinar Zaar (The Valley of Chinars) and will be build on the foothills of Zabarwan Mountains.
This effort is being taken in connection with ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The Chinar Zaar shall be spread over nearly 400 kanals of land and developed as an exclusive green zone and will be a major tourist attraction spot. 75 chinar trees are being planted by August 15, reportedly.
It is pertinent to mention that the Chinar tree is a magnificent, vibrant tree whose leaves change colors to red, yellow, and amber during the autumn season. Chinar tree grows best in cold areas. Chinar trees shed their leaves once a year.
