Major reshuffle in J&K Police: 43 DSPs adjusted, 17 transferred

Jammu : In a significant administrative move, the Jammu and Kashmir Police headquarters has issued Order No. 301 dated January 30, 2025, implementing a comprehensive reshuffle of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) across the region. The order, issued from Police Headquarters in Jammu, comes following the promotion of officers as DSPs through Government Orders No. 561-Home and 572-Home dated December 9 and 10, 2024, respectively.

The order details the adjustment of 43 DSPs to various units and battalions, including specialized wings such as the Counter Intelligence Division (CID), Armed Police, and Security. Notable postings include Vishal Singh Jamwal to HQ Reasi, Suhail Rashid to JKAP-4 Bn (Security), and Rajinder Kour to JKAP-4 Bn (Security). The order also encompasses postings to various Indian Reserve battalions, Women battalions, and specialized units like the SDRF.

Additionally, the order includes the transfer of 17 DSPs to different locations across Jammu and Kashmir. Among the key transfers, Afrat Hussain moves from SDPO Marwah to CID SB Rajouri, while Farha Nishat is transferred from Traffic City Jammu to HQ Jammu. The order, signed by DGP Nalin Prabhat, directs that all officers shall be relieved forthwith. The document has been circulated to various senior officials including the Principal Secretary Home Department, Director SKPA Udhampur, and other key administrative positions in J&K for immediate implementation.
