Many bankers, politicians, ex-bureaucrats under radar of J&K government

Jammu and Kashmir government is set to go after squatters who have illegally encroached upon government land. As per reports, government of J&K is expected to go after high profile politicians, doctors, bankers and many more who have allegedly occupied government land illegally.

Recently, government had retrieved encroached land from politicians; including senior Congress leaders and state minister Taj Mohiuddin, though the latter had denied this.

As per Daily Excelsior, many former Ministers, ex-bureaucrats, doctors, bankers have been identified by the government as encroachers of the Government land and before evicting land from their possession required formalities are getting completed.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has also been taken into confidence by the Jammu and Kashmir administration before initiating action which was necessary as action involved high-profile politicians among others. The decision is based on J&K initiative for transparency “Aap Ki Zameen Aap Ki Nigrani’.

Meanwhile, many encroachments have also been removed at various other places across Jammu and Kashmir.
