In a drive against minors driving two wheelers and others riding bikes without wearing helmet, the district administration of Doda today ordered all petrol pump operators not to sell fuel to those under the age of 18.
The order has come following a series of mishaps of bikes and scooties being driven by minors across Jammu and Kashmir.
The additional district magistrate has issued the order under the Section 163 BNSS and warned that the petrol pump operators of defying the order shall be personally held responsible and dealt under the law.
The ADM Sudershan Kumar has ordered that no petrol pump shall sell fuel to any biker not wearing helmet and fuel only those bikes whose owner shows the driving license.
He has also ordered the petrol pump operators to install CCTV cameras showing footage of fuel buyers.
