NC blames BJP, PDP of “collective games” to undermine common man’s problems

Srinagar : National Conference (NC) has in a brutal attack targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing them of conspiring against each other to undermine problems of commoners. NC Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq said this while addressing the media on Saturday.Sadiq indicated that the NC has back-up plans in place if statehood is not achieved as promised.

“PDP and BJP were both in the government earlier, but they didn’t take any step towards prohibiting alcohol. They are all playing games and sabotaging the public works,” he said. When asked about PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti requesting votes on bills such as prohibition on alcohol, Sadiq criticized her for not taking up such steps while she was Chief Minister. He hinted that the abrogation of Article 370 was a direct result of her government’s failures, adding, “Had she acted in accordance with the rules, Article 370 wouldn’t have gone.””We will seek their reasons behind not adopting all these measures over the past decade when they were engaged in distributing shawls and making laws such as GST and others operational,” Sadiq stated.

On statehood revival, Sadiq was positive on the strength of promises given by the Prime Minister and Home Minister, in addition to instructions from the Supreme Court. Yet, he affirmatively stated party leader Omar Abdullah has drawn out alternative plans should those commitments continue to go unkept.Sadiq closed by stating NC’s position of strength, indicating that with their “full majority,” they would implement all their manifesto commitments without requiring “sermons from anybody.”
