The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested actor Arjun Rampal’s brother-in-law Agisilaos Demetriades after they seized Cannabis and Alprazolam from him.
He is charged with alleged possession of contraband. NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede told the Entertainment Times that the South African National has been in contact with with the drug peddlers from Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. He said that Agisialos has a direct connection to the case and that’s why he has been arrested.
He is in custody for two days with the NCB. NCB officials claimed that less than 1 gram of black and sticky substance which is supposed to be marijuana, was found in a resort where Agisailos was staying.
Moreover, a few tablets of drug named Alprazolam, which is an anti-depressant drug banned in India, were also found from his Khar home. NCB teams raided the resort and his home at the same time.
A NCB official said that the 30-year-old South African’s call records prove that he was in contact with alleged drug peddlers Dwayne Fernandes and Anuj Keshwani, both of who are in jail, and another suspect peddler who is out on bail, Kaizan Ibrahim. Agisialos is the first foreigner to be arrested into the NCB drug probe. His advocate Kushal Mor said that he cooperated with the agency and there are no allegations of him being a dealer. He was produced before a court on 18th October.
By now, 23 people have been arrested in the NCB drug probe. Bombay High Court granted late Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty bail on October 7. Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty is still in jail. NCB recorded statements of Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan last month. Along with that, NCB also recorded statement of Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash.
Actor Arjun Rampal is in a live-in relationship with Gabriella Demetriades. They both have a son named Arik. After NCB arrested Gabriella’s brother, she has made her Instagram account private. Apart from that, her clothing brand Deme Love’s Instagram account’s comments section has also been limited.
