The much awaited night flights from Jammu airport are all set to take off from July 23.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh confirmed it by his twitter handle.

Dr Singh tweeted, “News that should bring Cheer to all. After our constant persuasion for the last 5 years, it has been decided to operate a late evening Air Flight between JAMMU and DELHI, most likely from Friday, 23rd July. Go Air has agreed for it. Thanks PM Narendra Modi ji, you have always been generous to J&K”.

This was one of the most important demands of the people.

According to airport authorities, the facility for landing flights at night is the runway approach lighting system, having many light bars with strobe lights installed at the end of the runway. Suitable facilities and arrangements have been made for the smooth operation of the night flights and their landing. Runway expansion work is almost complete and additional 1300 feet long airstrip work is likely to be completed by August 31, 2021.
