In what has come as a major relief to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir who had to earlier apply for liquor license by visiting the office of Excise and Taxation Department, the same can now be done with just a click of a button.
Those seeking alcohol license for parties including marriage, birthday among others can now apply online for these license in J&K. Not only this even the whole sale trade license, Bar license, retail shop license, license of defense forces and manufacturing plant can be applied online in J&K.

In furthering the effort of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for increased transparency, Excise and Taxation Department will now offer several online facilities to the residents of J&K.
An application for liquor license can be submitted by filling up a form on the website of Excise Department and providing required details.

These facilities include:
Permit to serve liquor on social occasions at private places
Permit to serve liquor on social occasions at banquet halls / party halls / restaurants etc
The department is also offering many other facilities regarding license online.
