Private school in Jammu scams class 10th students

A dozen students of class 10th became victim of fraud by a private school in Gho Brahmana area of district Samba as they could not participate in annual examination because this school was not identified by the Board of School Education (BOSE) up to 10th standard.

BOSE authorities have initiated action against school management for fraud and cheating students. 13 students of Shiv Shiksha Kendra High School, Gho Brahmana in Samba district were shocked when they found that their roll number slips have not come from the Board because their school is not registered with the BOSE.

Aggrieved students and their parents gathered and protested on the school premises. They shouted slogans against school administration and Education Department. Parents alleged that Education Department and especially its CEO should have considered that how this school administration had taken in 9th and 10th class students when BOSE has only registered it up to 8th standard.

Students said that they are feeling totally cheated and they can’t even face their neighbours and friends. Students said that they studied throughout the year as they wanted to not only pass exams but also secure excellent marks. They demanded justice and appealed to authorities in Education Department and BOSE to save their time which will otherwise get wasted.

School administration had told students they have been registered for the exam and their roll number slips will be provided to them when right time comes. School administrator, Rajesh Sharma had assured them many times everytime they would visit school. When students visited him on March 28th then he told them that they will be soon given roll numbers for exam.

Anuradha Gupta, District Development Commissioner of Samba said that she has asked the Chief Education Officer to initiate legal action against the School administration and register an FIR.

She said that students were already made aware by the department that this school was not registered above class 8 but parents of students didn’t do anything about it. She has appealed to all parents to be aware in future and check schools registration before admitting their kids.

Secretary of BOSE, Manisha Sarin assured that government will take action against school administration under law. She said that she will try to shift students to a Government school.
