Steering ahead the wheel of special initiative against drug abuse EK YUDH, NASHE KE VIRUDH Reasi Police arrested another drug peddler and recovered Herion from his possession. Team of Police Station during surprise checking and frisking at Baradari noticed suspicious movement, chased and apprehended one notorious drug peddler Ganesh Kumar S/O Prabhu Dyal R/O Bara Dari, Seela ward no 4 Reasi and recovered 1.13 gms of banned drug heroin from his possession.
On this case FIR No 02/2022 U/S 8, 21, 22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Reasi, accused arrested, banned drug is seized for further investigation to unearth forward and backward linkages in the case.
Pertinently yesterday Reasi Police seized ₹ 14.35 lakh Cash drug proceeds alongwith Charas in Kakriyal Katra. Whereas One Mohd Anayat @ Kaka S/O Mir Hussain R/O Seela tehsil and district Reasi absconding in case FIR no 55/2019 US 8,20,29 NDPS Act arrested and produced in Court of Sessions Judge Reasi.
Shailender Singh Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi while giving the details shared that under this drive Reasi Police achieved a major success and crossed the mark of 250 arrests with the registration of 206 Case FIRs of drug abuse since ending March 2021.
Singh while speaking on multipronged strategy of Reasi Police to counter drug abuse shared that drug addicits who are volunteers to Shun the path of drug abuse shall be recommended to de-addiction centers for their rehabilitation to mainstream. Whereas Peddlers will be dealt more strictly under law & shall be booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) in near future. Further Conveyed that Reasi Police is planning for opening of a part time counseling center for addicts in district Reasi.
SSP appealed that to eradicate this menace from society and to save our future generations citizens should come out of their shells to strengthen the Anti-Narcotics drive & must contribute in the War along with police against drug peddlers.
