Reasi police have arrested an accused who allegedly raped a woman on pretext of marriage from Jammu.
“On 7th of November a written complaint was lodged in Police Station Reasi by a girl (name withheld) of Karua Reasi that an accused who is a resident of Kreni Reasi fraudulently developed relationship with the complainant on promise of marriage and repeatedly raped her in the garb of promise of marriage” a police statement read.
After some time the girl came to know about the fraud and abuse that has been committed against her body and mind. On this case FIR no. 216 US 376 IPC has been lodged in Police Station Reasi and investigations set in.
Police team swung into action after lodging FIR, medical examination of the victim was also conducted. Statement of the victim was recorded U/S 164 CrPC before judicial magistrate.
A police team was constituted and raids were held at different locations in Jammu after which the accused was arrested from Thandi Khui Baribrahmna.
