Relief & Rehabilitation Comm visits Kashmiri Pandit camps in Jammu

JAMMU, APRIL 27: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrant) J&K, Jammu T K Bhat and Assistant Director Planning Rajneesh Kapoor today visited several Kashmiri Pandit migrant camps here to review various facilities provided to them and also to take stock of supply of essential commodities.

The Relief Commissioner visited camps at Purkhoo, Muthi, Butta Nagar and Mini Township Jagti to check the cleanliness and sanitization drives, regular supply of safe drinking water, electricity, Medicare facility, availability of essential items, maintenance of social distancing during collection of ration and purchase of household items.

The camp commandants stationed in these camps were directed to remain vigilant and be in touch with the camp inmates, so that any difficulty faced by the inmates during the lock down period is mitigated on time.

The visiting officials were informed that a portal has been made available for the migrants on the official website of Relief Organisation (jkmigrantrelief.nic.in) for registration of grievances related to cash assistance, ration, sanitation, electricity etc.

Till date around 65 complaints have been received and promptly redressed from these Kashmiri Pandit camps. The Relief Commissioner was informed that ration for the month of April and May 2020 has been fully distributed at Purkhoo, Muthi and Butta Nagar while as it was in progress at Mini Township Jagti.

The Relief Commissioners stressed on the need of ensuring round the clock sanitation and cleanliness in all the camps. The visiting team also visited PHC’s at Purkhoo and Muthi and expressed satisfaction on their working.At Muthi Camp, Relief Commissioner and Assistant Director Planning distributed packets of ration to some needy families.
