Rs 16 lakh jewellery theft solved, two arrested from Tamil Nadu

Jammu Police has successfully solved a jewellery theft case registered at Police Station Pacca Danga with the arrest of two accused persons from Tamil Nadu and recovery of stolen gold ornaments weighing approximately 111 grams (11.6 tolas), valued at around Rs.16 lakh.

On 08.08.2026, FIR No. 120/2026 under Sections 306/3(5) BNS was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga after workers of a jewellery shop allegedly decamped with gold belonging to the shop owner.

Following the registration of the case, SHO Pacca Danga and IC Police Post Chowk Chabutra launched sustained efforts to trace and apprehend the accused. During the course of investigation, multiple police teams of Police Station Pacca Danga, with the assistance of the ESU North Zone, conducted coordinated raids at various locations in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, utilizing technical and human intelligence, Police said.

As a result of sustained and persistent efforts, the police teams succeeded in apprehending two accused persons from Tamil Nadu, identified as:

1. Rahul S/o Ram Kumar, R/o District Unnao, Uttar Pradesh.

2. Raj Kumar S/o Swami Dayal Bhadnag, R/o Unnao, Uttar Pradesh.

During their apprehension, stolen gold ornaments weighing approximately 111 grams (11.6 tolas) and valued at approximately Rs.16 lakh were recovered from their possession.

Further investigation into the case is in progress to ascertain the involvement of other persons and recover any remaining stolen property.

The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SP North Jammu and SDPO North Jammu, with coordinated efforts by the officers and personnel of Police Station Pacca Danga and ESU North Zone.
