Smart meters planned but no measure to contain power cuts in J&K

While the Jammu and Kashmir government is planning installation of smart electricity meters in both Jammu and Srinagar, there seems to be no end to the power cuts in both regions.

People in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions are facing frequent power shutdowns almost on daily basis while the J&K government is busy making tall claims of development.

The Power Development Department (PDD) has severely failed in ending the power cuts in Jammu and Kashmir while the PR is running stories about the new mechanism in the department to ensure round the clock electricity in the UT.

In a yet another announcement of power cuts, Chief Engineer (Distribution) JPDCL Jammu informed that the power supply to Sunderpur, Part of R.S Pura, Badyal, Qazian, Dablehar, Chowalla and its adjoining areas shall remain affected on December 01 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Similarly, the power supply to Ramgarh, Rangoor and adjoining areas shall remain affected on December 01 from 9 am to 4 pm.

Likewise, the power supply to Suhagpur, Kotli, Jabowal, Part of Arnia, Trewa, Pandoriyan, Rehaal and adjoining areas shall remain affected on December 01 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Similarly, the power supply to Badyal Brahmana and its adjoining areas shall remain affected on December 01 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Likewise, the power supply to Gadigarh, Dhrap, Indra Nagar and its adjoining areas shall remain affected on December 01 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Similarly, the power supply to Lakad Mandi, Patoli, Janipur Colony, Pamposh colony, Ambredhar Nagar, High Court, Daily Excelsior, Statistical Office, Part of Talab Tillo, Kabir Colony, Basant, Vihar, Manorma Vihar, Hazuri Bagh, Col. Colony, Poonch House, Priya Darshani Lane, Top Paloura, Part of Barnai and adjoining areas shall remain affected on December 01 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Likewise, the power supply to Billawar, Parnala and adjoining areas shall remain affected on December 01, 03 and 05 from 9 am to 4 pm.

Meanwhile, Superintending Engineer (Distribution), JPDCL, O&M Circle, Kathua has informed that the power supply to Marheen, Sanji Morh, Chack Nathal, Bobyia, Manyari, Muthera Chak, Blasa Khoo, Gayal Wand, Hore and Khanwal shall remain affected on December 01 and 03 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Similarly, the power supply to Logate, Palli, Nihalpur and Lachipur shall remain affected on December 01 and 02 from 9 am to 2 pm.
