On Thursday, severe traffic congestion was seen at Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at various places between Nashri and Ramsu.
Traffic gridlock was witnessed at several places between Nashri and Ramsu which caused immense difficulties and problems for the commuters.
As per reports, huge traffic jams were witnessed at crucial junctions from Jakhani Udhampur to Banihal in Ramban district. Traffic gridlocks were also seen at Panthyal, Seri, Chanderkote and Maroog.
Various Travelers complained that the traffic snarls on the National Highway has become a common matter which leads to several problems and causes inconvenience to commuters.
A traffic official at Police check post Ramban said that due to Diwali holiday, a large number of people were expected to travel due to which both heavy and light motor vehicles were allowed to move on both sides of the National Highway.
Further the traffic police official said that because of this traffic jam was witnessed for brief periods at various narrow road stretches during the day.
