State Board exam for class 12th begins in Jammu region

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has initiated Class 12 board exams for Jammu region from today. These exams will be conducted in offline mode while ensuring that participants follow the standard operating procedure and COVID-19 guidelines.

This “exam session” will be inaugurated by Geography examination for Science and Arts students. Board released Class 12 exams (Jammu division) date sheet on its official website at The exams will be conducted from 11 am. Last Class 12 board exam will take place on April 29.

A Board official said that all students have been directed to maintain social distancing among themselves and wear masks. All examination centres will be sanitised before exam takes place. Ms Veena Pandit, JKBOSE chairperson will supervise the measures taken by officials to ensure smooth functioning of exams.

Students belonging to Science, Arts, Home Science and Commerce stream will take separate exams. Students who are associated with Home Science and Commerce stream will start their board exams on April 5 with General English paper. April 29 will be the last day of exam for every stream.

JKBOSE has issued a list of exam-day guidelines for students who’ll be taking exams. This list includes instructions to refrain from any malpractice during exams and tips to follow in order to avoid spread of infection among students and faculty members.

Students have been asked to carry their JKBOSE admit cards in the exam hall. They have also been directed not to carry any electronic gadgets like mobile phones or headphones which could be used for cheating during the exams.

JKBOSE has asked all the superintendents and heads of institutions to ensure that exam halls are sanitised and COVID-19 SOPs are being followed by participants. Earlier all the schools were directed to conduct the practical exams in their own personal capacity from March 10 before the theory papers starts.
