Srinagar, July 31: Top Bureaucrat and Special Secretary, Social Welfare Deartment Tasaduq Jeelani died of Covid-19 infection. He was admitted at JVC SKIMS Bemina in Srinagar.
Confirming his death, Principal JVC SKIMS Bemina Dr Reyaz Untoo said that Tasaduq Jeelani died of post Covid-19 complications.
“The cause of death was cardio pulmonary arrest,” Untoo said adding that Jeelani had been admitted in the hospital on 14 July this month and he died after a battle of 18 days.
Untoo said Jeelani was a diabetic patient as well.
Jeelani was earlier Director of Information and Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag.
Jammu and Kashmir is already dealing with several cases of Covid-19 and the death of Tasaduk Jeelani has shocked the UT.
