Three boxes full of currency notes found with homeless woman in Rajouri

In what came as a shock for many, three plastic crates full of currency were recovered from a homeless elderly woman from Nowshera in Rajouri district of J&K.

Besides crates full of money, a jute bag was also found that was filled with money with the homeless. It has been learnt that the authorities have finished counting of notes that have come out to be nearly Rs 2.58 lakh.

As per reports, the homeless woman used to wander on the streets of Nowshera town in Rajouri and get money from unknown people as help. She was on Monday shifted to a government accommodation after municipal committee staff sent by the local administration to search the woman’s belongings.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambyal told media organizations that three plastic boxes in which the woman used to carry vegetables were found filled with currency notes and a jute bag full of coins were recovered by the employees during searches.

District administration team was later deployed to count the cash recovered from the woman.
