Two soldiers killed in “accidental firing” along LoC in Rajouri

Two soldiers were killed in a suspected ‘accidental fire’ at Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu’s Rajouri district on Thursday.

Sources informed that the incident took place at the forward location in the Hanjan Wali area of Rajouri saying both the slain soldiers had bullet injuries.

The incident occurred on Thursday at around 1.30 pm when two soldiers, identified as Sepoy Sarvjeet Singh and Sepoy Navraj Singh from 14 Punjab (Gambhir Battalion) received bullet injuries. They were stationed along Line of Control (LoC) in the border district, sources informed.

As per army sources, Sarvjeet Singh (27) had joined army six years ago while Navraj Singh (23) had joined four and a half years ago.

A police team from Rajouri city post has been rushed to the spot and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
