Srinagar :- Two western disturbances are expected to impact Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas from January 1st to 6th, according to a meteorological official. While the weather is predicted to remain dry on December 30th and 31st, the first disturbance, a feeble one, is likely to bring cloudy skies with light snow at scattered places starting the evening of January 1st.
A more significant, moderate western disturbance is anticipated from January 3rd to 6th, bringing light to moderate rain in the Jammu plains and snow at numerous locations across the region.
Peak activity is expected on January 4th and 5th, with the possibility of heavy snowfall at isolated higher reaches. Cold wave conditions are also forecast for December 30th and 31st. Authorities are advising tourists, travelers, and transporters to exercise caution and follow advisories due to sub-freezing temperatures and icy road conditions.
