Saftey first :- Doodhpathri access restricted to vehicles with Anti-Skid Chains

Srinagar :- Following recent snowfall in the region, the District Administration Budgam has implemented a ban on vehicles lacking anti-skid chains from entering the popular tourist destination, Doodhpathri, located in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

This decision, as confirmed by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khansahib, Malik Tariq, to the news agency Kashmir News Trust, is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety of travelers. The SDM explained that the administration had issued an advisory several days prior, emphasizing the mandatory use of anti-skid chains for all vehicles venturing into the higher reaches of Doodhpathri.

The significant snowfall has rendered road conditions extremely slippery, increasing the risk of accidents. He urged tourists to strictly comply with the guidelines and to diligently check weather updates before planning their trips to the upper reaches of Doodhpathri, thereby prioritizing safety and preventing any unforeseen incidents.
