Weather in Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain pleasant as rainfall is predicted from March 31 to April 2 in the region.
Jammu and Kashmir is expected to receive rainfall in the hills and even snowfall in mountainous areas from the given dates. Weather in Jammu Kashmir is pleasant for the past sometime due to the trail of western disturbances that hit the region not letting heat to sink in.
Weather in Jammu today was clear with 18 degree temperature that was not letting the people to store their woolens. According to the MeT weather in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh with witness sudden change on March 31 after a spell ofrain hits the region.
Residents of Jammu and other northern parts of the country were not witnessing the heat they used to face during this time of the year. Rather the weather in Jammu has remained pleasant letting the people to still wear woolens.
The region is hit with western disturbances one after another that has also raised doubts among the farmers in plains of Jammu and Punjab whose wheat crop has ripened and ready for harvest. Hailstorm and rainfall become a cause of worry for these farmers every year but this year the intensity of change in weather is frequent.
According to the MeT department, “a fresh spell of intermittent to moderate rain in plains and snowfall over higher reaches of J&K and Zojila, Drass and some areas of Zanskar region is most likely from March 31 to April 2”.
The department issues warnings and announcements in advance regarding any change in the weather conditions to let the general public and farmers brace themselves up for any situation. Areas in Jammu region including Bhaderwah, Doda and Kishtwar often receive snowfall when the plains of the region receive rainfall.
