Who is responsible for Vaishno Devi stampede? DC Reasi, CEO Shrine Board or entire J&K Govt

While the Union Territory administration is making tall claims about keeping a vigil on number of people entering Jammu and Kashmir, the stampede at Vaishno Devi where thousands of pilgrims had entered exposed the authorities.

Although it is too early for the J&K government to fix the responsibility for allowing so many people together to reach Vaishno Devi shrine, it is definitely the incompetence of the officers who keep on holding meetings about the pandemic and issue restrictions and guidelines that are not always followed.

The J&K government has already made a mockery of itself by imposing night curfew that is violated with impunity by residents with no action by police authorities. Celebrations on New Year that were also under scanner in most of the country seems to have missed the sight of administration in Jammu and Kashmir due to which a large number of people were allowed to proceed to Vaishno Devi leading to a stampede in which at least 12 people died and many were left injured.

Even the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has held several meetings regarding the Covid crisis in J&K but it has to be seen as to how he fixes the responsibility of crowding of the place leading to a stampede as he himself the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

The district administration of Reasi led by Deputy Commissioner Charandeep Singh is also under question as the officer is supposed to manage restrictions in his district. Also, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Ramesh Kumar has to answer as to why so many people were allowed at the Bhawan.
