For the upcoming SAFF U-20 Championship in Bhubaneshwar, the Indian squad has chosen two young football players from Kashmir.
The 23-person team that was unveiled on Saturday includes two Kashmiri football players. On July 27, at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar, India will face Bangladesh in its inaugural match.
Syed Zahid Hussain Bukhari and Sajad Hussain Parray, who both played for the All India Football Federation’s development team the India Arrows, have secured positions in the India Under-20 team due to their consistent performances.
The goalkeeper, Zahid, is from the Srinagar neighbourhood of Natipora, while the defender Sajad is from the city’s outskirts in the neighbourhood of Gund Hassi Bhat.
