Udhampur :- In a significant move against terrorism, the Udhampur Police have apprehended and detained Mohammad Rafiq, marking the fifth terror associate from the Basantgarh area to be held under the Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA).
Rafiq, a resident of Balota Chigla in Basantgarh and son of Mohammad Qasim, has been identified as a hardcore terror associate with involvement in multiple terror-related cases.As Per officials report that Rafiq had been actively operating as a guide and facilitator for terrorist organizations until his arrest.
The decision to detain him under the Public Safety Act came after a thorough evaluation of his activities and the potential threat he posed to public safety.
The detention order was executed as part of the district police’s ongoing crackdown on terror support networks in the region.The detention of five terror associates from the Basantgarh area demonstrates the persistent presence of terror support networks in the region and the authorities’ determination to dismantle them. Following his detention order, Rafiq has been transferred to jail custody, where he will remain under the provisions of the PSA.
