Bridge over Indus river demanded by locals in Ladakh

The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur was called upon by Tsewang Nurboo, Panch Hepti village representing the long pending demand for construction of bridge over the river Indus and to construct road upto Hepti to connect the village to main land population.

A delegation comprising Urgain Tundup, Zanskar Gonpa Association; Tashi Tundup, Secretary, LBA Zanskar and Stanzin Tundup, President LBA Youth Wing, Zanskar called upon the Lt. Governor at Raj Niwas today. They submitted their request to grant district status to Zanskar, construction of air strip, to expedite the Nimmo-Padum-Darcha road and work on NH 301.

The Lt. Governor heard their demands and gave assurance to take them up for due consideration.
