High voltage drama was witnessed at ASCOMS hospitals also known as Batra in Jammu when a family alleged that their member who was Covid positive died due to shortage of oxygen.
The family who belongs to Muthi protested in front of the hospitals and said that while the hospital was busy minting money due to the Covid pandemic, “they do not have arrangements despite having a big name” the affected family alleged.
However district administration of Jammu clarified that there were a total of four deaths at Batra hospital but none was due shortage of oxygen.
An official statement by government read, “4 deaths reported in Batra Hospital,Jammu today occured because of routine medical reasons, not because of shortage of oxygen”.
“As far as oxygen supply to Batra hospital is concerned, 253 oxygen cylinders (7 cum each) were supplied to the hospital in the last 24 hours and regular replenishment is being undertaken as per requirement raised. The supply of oxygen is being closely monitored” It further read.
The statement added, “While there is increasing demand due to increase in number of Covid patients, no patient has died due to shortage of supply of oxygen. Please don’t pay heed to rumours”.
